Make a PDF fillable
Open the file in the editor, place fields where the answers go, and export. The fields are real PDF form fields (AcroForm), so people can type into them in any PDF viewer and you can read the answers back with ordinary PDF tools.
How to make a PDF fillable
- 1
Add the PDF, or start from a blank page in the editor. It opens with the Form field tool selected.
- 2
Pick a field type in the panel (text box, checkbox, radio button or dropdown) and click the page to place it. Drag it into place, then name it and set its options in the Inspector.
- 3
Press Export PDF. The fields are saved as standard form fields that any PDF viewer can fill.
Your PDF stays on your device
Most online PDF tools send your file to a server. This one runs in your browser instead, so there is nothing to delete later and nothing to leak.
- Works offline. Load the page, turn off the internet, and it still works.
- No account, no watermark. The result is yours, with nothing added.
Frequently asked questions
- Which viewers can fill the form?
- Any that supports PDF forms: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Acrobat Reader, macOS Preview and most phone viewers. The fields are standard AcroForm fields, not a PdfNib-specific format.
- Can I collect the answers?
- Filled copies keep the answers in the fields, so any PDF library or Acrobat's export can read them by field name. Give fields clear names for that.
- Can two fields share a value?
- Yes. Fields with the same name show the same value everywhere, which suits a name repeated on every page. Radio buttons with the same name form one group where only one can be chosen.
- Can people type in Bangla or Hindi?
- Pick a script font under Typing font in the form panel and it is embedded in the file, so viewers that support it can show typed Bangla, Hindi or Arabic. Starting text and choices in those scripts are handled on their own. How well conjuncts are shaped while typing varies by viewer.
- Is my document uploaded?
- No. Building and exporting the form happen in your browser, and the editor works offline.
